Study of Induced Astigmatism After Cataract Surgery by Phacoalternative

The objective is to study the astigmatism induced after phacoalternative surgery in order improve quality of surgery. This was a prospective and descriptive cross-sectional carried out at Donka University Hospital Conakry from july 2021 january 2022, i.e. duration 7 months, on 100 operated eyes. It involved eyes, by with an upper limbal incision least 6 mm implantation lens bag. Automatic refraction performed pre-operatively post-operatively 45ᵉ day. mean age 62 years. Visual acuity reduced light perception 58% cases preoperatively. implant power biometry 19±2.38 Dioptres (D); 50% patients received calculated implant. Corneal oedema most frequent early complication. Regarding functional outcome, 82% eyes had uncorrected visual greater than 3/10 D45 92% correction. 95% preoperative less 2D 57% according rule. average postoperative 3.15D against In conclusion, linear superior induces rule 3.15 dioptres average.
